A MAN hurled a wheelie bin through windows of a coffee shop during a disturbance in Christchurch.

Three windows were damaged at Costa Coffee in Saxon Square at around 8pm on Monday May 20.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report of a disturbance involving a group of men in the area of Saxon Square in Christchurch.

"Officers attended and a man was reportedly seen pushing a wheelie bin into the windows of Costa Coffee, causing damage to three windows, before making off from the scene."

Following a search of the area, an 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He has been released on police bail as enquiries into the incident continue.
