TWO more arrests have been made in connection with a knife attack in Poole town centre at the weekend.

A local man, aged in his 40s, suffered stab injuries to his back outside The Cabin, Old Orchard, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Later that day Dorset Police arrested a Bournemouth man, aged 22, and a 24-year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

The 22-year-old was released under investigation and the 24-year-old released on police bail.

On Monday, detectives made two more arrests. A 16-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man, both from Poole, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

The teenager has been released on police bail and the 41-year-old released under investigation.

Detective Constable Ben Swain, of Bournemouth CID, said: "An investigation remains ongoing into this incident and I am again renewing my appeal for witnesses to come forward.

"I am aware there were a number of people in Dorset Booze off licence and Munchies takeaway at this time and I would ask anyone who was present to please come forward as you may have important information that could assist my enquiries."

The incident took place at 12:20am on Sunday, May 19.
