A MAN was found dead in woodland near his East Dorset home by his mum and brother, an inquest heard on Thursday.

James Hill, who was 34, went missing from his home in Knole Lane, Corfe Mullen on Monday, May 6.

He was found hanged. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.

An inquest into Mr Hill's death was opened and adjourned at Bournemouth coroner's court this week.

Coroner's officer Ken McEwan said: "Mr Hill's mother had gone into his room to wake him up. He was not in bed."

A note was then discovered on a chest of drawers and Mr Hill's body was found shortly afterwards.

Mr Hill was married and worked as a plasterer, the court heard.

The cause of death was given as asphyxia due to hanging.

A full inquest will take place at the court on January 22 next year.
