THERE’S just one week to go until the multi award-winning Bournemouth 7s festival returns and organisers say it looks set to be the biggest and most exciting event in its 12 year history.

Here are seven highlights from the world’s biggest sport and music festival which runs from Friday, May 24 to Sunday May 26 at Chapel Gate.

1. HEADLINING: Expect another big line up including headline act, British rapper, singer and television personality Professor Green who will be bringing an eclectic mix of hip hop, grime and electronica, with hits such as Read All About It, Photographs and One Eye On The Door. British DJ and producer Jaguar Skills will also star, as well as the following line up:

2. MORE NEW VENUES: For the ultimate in House music, ‘Ya Mum’s House’ is a new feature - an uplifting party experience. The new ‘Carlsberg Danish Garden’ also offers festival-goers and players the perfect venue to grab a nice chilled drink, relax in the sun and listen to chilled out tunes whilst utilising the abundance of seating provided. As night falls, this arena turns up a notch so prepare yourself for plenty of table dancing - an experience like nothing else. The new ‘Funky Forest’ is all about music and discovery, so take it back to nature and dance among the trees as day slips into night and the disco evolves.

3. WORLD CLASS RUGBY: An amazing array of world class rugby teams compete in the Crabbie’s National Cup including last year’s winners Speranza22, the Viper 10 Bournemouth Lions, the Jamaica 7s National Team and even the UK Army 7s Rugby team.

4. UNIQUE FESTIVAL ESCAPE ROOM EXPERIENCE: As if finding your way around 15 dance arenas wasn’t enough, the Bournemouth 7s team has partnered with Crabbie’s to install an unbelievable Escape Room on site. Housed in a bespoke 40ft ISO-container (think Croydon’s BoxPark), it is a unique ‘heist’ experience which will keep festival-goers intrigued and perplexed throughout. Successful escapees will be rewarded with a secret prize haul and walk away with smug satisfaction. Spaces are limited so escape room fans should get in early during the opening times of 10am – 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

5. COLOUR PARTY: Taking place in the brand new VIP Coloursuem, the Colour Party is going to be a huge highlight of the festival weekend. Expect confetti, inflatables and everything colour, along with those old school singalong tunes! PLUS, an official host will be entertaining the crowds and will definitely have you throwing some shapes!

6. POOLE BUS ROUTE: New for 2019, in partnership with Yellow Buses, the festival has created a bespoke branded Bournemouth 7s bus – the number 777 - to regularly transport sport lovers and festival goers from Poole to the festival throughout May 25th and 26th. The 737 bus route will also run from central Bournemouth to the festival. The two routes will run simultaneously throughout the weekend.

7. B7s APP: A new Bournemouth 7s festival app for 2019 will be launched, putting fixture times, FAQs, lineup, arena information, festival map and a weather checker in the palm of your hand. Look out for the official launch announcement!
