A CCTV image of a suspect has been issued by police after a man exposed himself to two teenage girls in Ferndown.

As previously reported, the incident happened in Monsal Avenue on Monday afternoon, just after the end of the school day.

The two girls, both aged 15, were walking along the pavement on the right hand side of the road towards Wollaton Road when they became aware of a man following them.

As they reached the junction with Wollaton Road the man said something and they turned round to see him exposing himself. The girls ran off.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, around five feet eight inches tall, with short dark hair that is receding on top and facial stubble. He was wearing a black polo shirt with a small white logo on the left hand side of the chest and black combat style trousers.

Police Constable Tina Stratford, of East Dorset police, said: “This must have been a very distressing incident for the girls involved and we are carrying out a detailed investigation to identify the suspect.

“As part of our enquiries, we have obtained a CCTV image of the suspect. I appreciate it is not the best quality image but I am hoping that, possibly with the assistance of the description above, someone will be able to recognise him or have information as to his identity.

“I would also like to hear from any witnesses to the incident. In particular, I understand there was a turquoise-coloured car that drove past around the time of the offence and the occupants may have seen what happened or captured it on dashcam.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 13:267.
