Staff at Victoria Education Centre are set to dance for 24-hours to raise money for new play hall floor.
Victoria Education Centre in Poole offers specialised education, therapy and care for young people with physical disabilities and complex medical conditions.
It heavily relies on donations with students, volunteers, centre staff and their families regularly taking part in fundraising activities.
The latest fundraising campaign is a 24–hour Danceathon, which the school hopes will raise funds towards replacing the flooring in the school’s large play room
The centre's occupational therapist and event organiser Kelly Westerby said: "“Play is at the heart of occupational therapy and we would like our play hall to be an environment where our students can be inspired to play and spend time with their peers.
"At the moment our play hall floor is the original floor put in, in the 1960s. It is very dark and gloomy and no matter what decoration or displays are put in to cheer the room up it still remains a lacklustre environment to provoke play and friendship."
The event is scheduled to start in the school's sports hall at 1pm on June 5, finishing at 1pm the following day.
