A MAN seriously hurt in a quad bike crash in North Dorset has died.

As reported, police and paramedics were called to an unclassified road between the A31 and the A354 after a crash just before 12.50pm on Monday, May 6.

A 61-year-old man was around a mile north of Winterborne Kingston and travelling towards Blandford when he came off his quad bike and landed in the road.

He suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for emergency treatment.

However, despite the efforts of doctors, he died from his injuries in the early hours of this morning, Monday, May 13, surrounded by his family.

Inspector Joe Pardey, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with this man’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

“An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of this collision and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have relevant dashcam footage to please contact Dorset Police.”
