EXPERTS tell us that the demise of the honey bees is because of the farmers using too many insecticides, killing off bees as well as other pests.

Blaming the farmers is easy, but to me a lot of the problem is down to the car.

In towns across the country, we had houses with lovely front gardens which were the pride and joy of the householder, flowers in abundance giving the bees the nectar they thrived on. Sadly those lovely front and back gardens have been systematically destroyed simply to make room for the car.

With housing being a high priority, builders and developers put all their efforts into building high rise flats, not bothering to build houses with front and rear gardens, meaning no gardens, no flowers, no bees – simple.

Before disagreeing with my observations, go out and see for yourselves.
