MUSIC lovers are invited to a special event to raise money in memory of a young woman who died from cancer.

Nicki’s Night will take place across three consecutive days at three venues across Bournemouth and Poole next month.

The event is being organised by Martine Phillips and her partner Lee Smith who lost his sister Nicki in 2016 following an 18-month battle with cancer.

Lee has held Nicki’s Night for the past three years as a one-day event, which has so far raised more than £5,000 for Cancer Research UK, and this year Martine and Lee are determined to put on their biggest and best event yet.

The first event will take place at the Buffalo Bar in Winton on Friday, May 17, and will feature performances by Loose Covers and Stomping Boondocks, while the following day’s event will be held at The Kings Charles pub in Poole from 2pm on what would have been Nicki’s 38th birthday. The line-up features WireFighters, Dirty Fingers UK, Airwave and Never The Agreed.

The final event will take place at The Four Horsemen Pub in Bournemouth on the Sunday from 1pm and will feature the talents of Si Genaro, Bowen & Pounds, Phil J King and Plastic Jeezus.

Martin said: “We're looking for donations for raffles, we'll be holding one on each night and also on the Saturday evening at King Charles we will be auctioning off a signed photograph of marvel legend Stan Lee.”
