A MAN and a woman were assaulted with a glass bottle after being accused of damaging a man's phone. The attack happened at around 2am on Sunday.
A man and a woman, aged in their thirties, were walking from Old Christchurch Road towards the Lansdowne roundabout when they got involved in an argument with a man who accused them of damaging his phone.
They walked away from the man, but he followed them to Christchurch Road, near Zephyr nightclub and KFC, before throwing a glass bottle at the woman.
The man she was with went to chase the offender away and was also hit with a glass bottle. He suffered cuts to his face, while the woman had a head injury.
The offender was described as white, around five feet nine inches tall and with short dark hair and was wearing grey jeans and no top.
A 34-year-old man from Margate in Kent was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released under investigation as detectives continue to make enquiries.
Detective Constable Matt Manners, of Bournemouth CID, is asking witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact police on 101.
