AN ABERGELE Easter event has exceeded all "eggspectations".
More than 240 children joined the Abergele District Action Group (ADAG) for their free event and an appearance by the Easter Bunny at Easter in the Park at Pentre Mawr Park on Easter Saturday, April 21.
Alison Pring, chair of the events committee said, “ It was a great success, beyond all eggspectations, a record number of children attended the Easter egg hunt in the quiet garden.
"The hunt had to be staggered so as not overfill the garden."
In addition to egg and treasure hunts, the event also featured free ice cream, face painting, donkey rides, inflatable slides, story telling and magic tricks, while troubadours mingled with the families playing folk music alongside artists teaching art and craft skills and more.
Ms Pring added: "It was a truly community event as Glan Gele Primary school painted over 150 marker eggs for the egg hunt, Tesco Abergele's community champion also set up a fund in the store for Easter in the Park and customers donated £1,000.
"The Abergele community have been so generous.The ADAG committee consist of six pensioners who organise these events and with the help of volunteers and the community coming together like it did, I feel we could conquer the world."
Proceeds from Easter in the Park will go to ADAG's next event, Shakespeare in the Park on Thursday, July 18 where the Festival Players International - whose patron is Dame Judy Dench - will perform Much Ado About Nothing and the group's ongoing Incredible Edible Trail.
