A MOTORCYCLIST and pillion passenger were seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash near Wimborne.
The crash happened on the unclassified road between the Horton Inn and Gussage All Saints at around 3.05pm on Friday.
It involved a red Honda motorcycle and an unknown red vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.
The rider of the motorcycle, a local man in his 60s, sustained serious injuries along with his pillion passenger, a local woman aged in her 60s.
They were both taken to hospital for treatment by ambulance.
Police said their injuries are not life-threatening.
Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the manner of driving immediately prior to the incident to please get in touch.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was travelling along that road at the time and may have captured the incident on dashcam and can help me identify the outstanding red vehicle.”
