A DISPOSABLE barbecue that had not been fully extinguished caused a fire at a Christchurch beauty spot.
Two crews from Christchurch and an off-road vehicle attended the fire at St Catherine’s Hill at 5.37pm on Friday (April 19).
The fire involved a small area of heathland and was extinguished using a hose reel jet.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service urged members of the public to ensure they use disposable barbecues in "safe locations" and that they are fully extinguished.
