FIREFIGHTERS were kept busy on Sunday night with a number of incidents reported across Dorset.

Crews from Westbourne and Redhill dealt with a fire in a school playground in Poole.

The fire involved playground equipment and occurred at the site of Heatherlands Primary School in Library Road, Parkstone.

It was reported at 9.36pm and extinguished using one hose reel.

A plug-in heater caught fire in Paddocks Way in Ferndown. One crew from Ferndown attended following the call at 11.24pm after the occupant raised concerns about damage caused by the fire.

On the scene, firefighters confirmed the fire was out and completed a full inspection of the property to make sure everything was safe.

A short time later, firefighters from Springbourne were called to bins on fire in Jewell Road in Townsend at 11.58pm. The fires were extinguished using two hose reels.

Firefighters were also called to a fire in Turbary Road at 8.15pm. One crew from Poole attended.
