POLICE are hunting for a man wanted in connection with a Samurai sword robbery at a Bournemouth jewellers.

Officers from the Met Police's Operation Venice, which specifically focuses on moped-enabled crime, are calling for help to track down Kalan Williamson, who is 26 and lives in Beaufort Street, Chelsea, London.

He is currently wanted by the Met for a commercial robbery at a jewellers in Wimbledon on September 12 2018 and a commercial burglary at a clothes shop in Wimbledon on December 6 2018. Dorset Police want to speak with Williamson in connection with a "violent commercial robbery" at Franses Jewellers in Westover Road on Thursday, March 14.

Chief Inspector Jim Corbett, of Operation Venice, said: “Anyone with information should contact police immediately on 101 quoting reference 897/11Apr.

"If you are this person, I would suggest handing yourself in to the nearest police station sooner rather than later.”

As reported in the Daily Echo, seven people have been arrested in connection with the raid. Police from Dorset teamed up with officers from the Met to carry out the arrests on Thursday morning.

At the time of the robbery, police said a number of men on two mopeds and a motorbike were involved. One of the men used a Samurai sword to keep members of the public away.
