SEVEN people have been arrested after robbers armed with a Samurai sword raided a Bournemouth jewellery shop last month.
Police from Dorset teamed up with officers from the Met to carry out the arrests this morning.
Franses Jewellers in Westover Road was robbed at around midday on Thursday, March 14. Police said at the time that a number of men on two mopeds and a motorbike were believed to be involved. One of the men used a Samurai sword to keep members of the public away.
Nobody was injured during the incident. A quantity of jewellery items were stolen.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said this lunchtime: "A detailed investigation was launched involving detectives from Dorset Police with support from the Met’s Operation Venice team, which tackles moped enabled crime.
"Following warrants executed at addresses in London and Dorset this morning, five suspects were arrested at addresses in south London for robbery of commercial premises using weapons and two were arrested in Dorset for conspiracy to commit armed robbery."
