A TEMPORARY 30mph speed limit will be in place Purbeck later this month while a major event takes place Bovington Tank Museum.
Bovington Lane will have a temporary speed limit imposed between Friday, April 26 and Monday, April 29.
The Tank Museum will be hosting Tiger Day 11 on Saturday, April 27.
Dorset Council said the temporary restriction will be in force from the national speed limit signs near the Tank Museum eastwards to a point approximately 65 metres east of its junction with Cologne Road, a distance of approximately 1,300 metres.
In a public notice, Dorset Council said the temporary speed limit is required “to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.”
Visitors to Tiger Day 11 will be able to see the only running Tiger I tank in the world, the Tiger 131, in action with two appearances taking place in the arena.
Each year, the Tank Museum’s Tiger Day event attracts thousands of visitors.
