HE’S the legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues. Now fans of John Lodge can see him perform live when he brings his 10,000 Light Years solo tour to Dorset.

John who has recently been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, says he will always enjoy being on the road.

“Have bass: will travel, what can I say,” he laughs. “I started when I was 15 and met Ray Thomas and we formed a band called El Riot & The Rebels, and within a year we were playing four gigs a week.

“It seems that I have been doing that all my life. I enjoy doing it, I still play every day. I love what I do, and I love rock and roll and I am a bit of a gypsy too.”

He also talks fondly about his former Moody Blues bandmate, Ray Thomas who passed away in January 2018 and provides a taste of what audiences can expect at his show which visits the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne on Sunday, April 14.

He said: “I’ve tried to put a set together which is like a Moody Blues concert but with my songs in there too. It is important because I am a Moody Blue and always will be, so when someone comes to a John Lodge concert, I hope they take something with them and I hope they have experienced something that’s emotionally turned them on.”

As a special offer for Daily Echo readers, we have three pairs of tickets for the Tivoli show to give away.
