MORE than 66,000 people in Dorset have now signed a petition calling for Article 50 to be revoked.

Nearly 6million people have signed the petition calling for the Brexit process to be halted and for Britain to remain in the EU.

West Dorset has attracted the most signatories of all the constituencies in Dorset.

Yesterday afternoon, 11,428 people had signed the petition from West Dorset which is 11.65 per cent of the electorate.

While in Bournemouth East, 10,016 people had signed the petition with 8,402 signing it in Bournemouth West.

This was followed by 8,382 in Simon Hoare’s constituency of North Dorset, 8,101 in Poole represented by Sir Robert Syms, 7,046 in Mid Dorset and North Poole and 6,394 in Christchurch.

Meanwhile, 7,686 people have signed it in Sir Desmond Swayne’s constituency of New Forest West.

The petition is due to be debated in Parliament on Monday.
