AT 54, he may no longer be a teenage pin up, but there is still plenty of love around for Scottish singer Marti Pellow it would seem.

The former frontman led the iconic eighties band Wet Wet Wet for more than three decades before pursuing a solo career as a singer and songwriter.

Now Marti Pellow is appearing in concert at Lighthouse Poole on Wednesday, June 26 . Tickets go on sale at 10am today. See further details below.

The BRIT and Ivor Novello award-winning singer-songwriter first came to the attention of the British public as the lead singer of Wet Wet Wet.

With the band and as a solo artist, Marti has released a number of chart-topping multi-platinum albums including the solo records Moonlight Over Memphis; Love to Love; the jazz album Sentimental Me; Hope, a tribute to the songs of Broadway and the West End; and the self-penned country-influenced southern soul album Boulevard of Life.

A tour spokesman said: “He has more than 25 hit singles to his name including one of the most successful in UK chart history, Love Is All Around, which spent 15 weeks at the number one slot.

“He has also released a string of chart topping multi-platinum albums, won every major award in the British music industry, had the White House proclaim a day be named after him, broken a string of box office records, and starred in huge hit musical theatre productions in London’s West End and on Broadway in New York.”
