BUILDING work on a new Community Hub for Creekmoor is set to begin after Easter.

Plans for the project will be on show at an Open Morning at Christ Church on Northmead Drive, Creekmoor on Saturday, April 6 from 10.30am to 12.30pm with a presentation at 11.30am to show the importance of the development.

After years of fundraising, the building work will begin in April to create an extension for a much-needed Community Hub to serve Creekmoor and beyond as well as an improved Worship Centre.

The Community Hub will provide further children, family and youth activities, a daily Community Café with dementia support and enable new community projects such as dementia friendly activities for the whole community to help address loneliness and isolation in the surrounding area.

The building work will take around eight months and during that time the Sunday morning services and the majority of the community activities will move to the nearby Community Centre Social Club.

More funds are still needed to finish and equip the hub. To find out more and to discover how to get involved, visit christchurchcreekmoor.org or contact Rev Janice Audibert at janice.audibert@ntlworld.com or on 01202 389751.
