A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of assault after two police officers were injured during a concern for welfare incident.
Police were called to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man in his 30s from Poole at 4.21pm on Thursday (March 21)
Officers, assisted by the NPAS helicopter and HM Coastguard, carried out a search of the Sandbanks area and the coastline up to Boscombe.
Both of Poole’s lifeboats also assisted with the search after they were launched at 11.15pm.
The man was located just after 5am this morning near Boscombe Pier.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said while dealing with the man, two officers reportedly sustained injuries.
The man was arrested on suspicion of assault and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
