A 40ft motorboat with two people on-board got into difficulty off Bournemouth after taking on water.
Poole Lifeboat volunteers were called out to the Rodman vessel a mile south of Bournemouth Pier just before 2pm on Thursday.
The vessel had declared a ‘pan-pan’ which is used during an urgent situation when there is no imminent danger but the situation could deteriorate quickly.
An RNLI training vessel was in the area and responded to the call.
A crew member was transferred across to check that the people on-board were okay and to check the vessel.
The Poole Lifeboat arrived on scene within 10 minutes and a towline was attached to the vessel which was brought back into Poole Harbour before it was taken to Cobbs Quay.
The lifeboat returned the station and was ready for service by 4.15pm.
