As a very frequent visitor to Weymouth, I wondered if anyone thought that the Weymouth “Necklace” of promenade lights might be funded from public donations via collection boxes distributed around the town?
The lights could be installed in short sections each time a target amount is achieved to finance that particular stretch, possibly with a small plaque naming any individual or business who made a significant contribution e.g. Wiring, installation equipment, manpower, etc.
As time passed it would be visually satisfying to see the gradual progress of the lights.
