A REVAMPED playground which cost almost £100,000 has opened in New Milton.
The "much improved" facility in Doe Copse was opened by mayor David Rice-Mundy on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by a number of youngsters from the town.
Cllr Rice-Mundy said: "We are very proud of our latest play park and look forward to seeing children spend many happy hours having fun and enjoying outdoor exercise."
The park aims to meet a recognised shortfall by providing a play space for children aged up to ten.
The equipment is accessible to disabled children and their carers.
Cllr Geoff Blunden, chairman of the town council's amenities committee, said: "I'm delighted to report that the project was funded entirely by developers' contributions and not by the local ratepayer.
"Our precept is unaffected, which is very good news for our residents."
Many children from the area can reach the park without crossing "highly-trafficked roads", he added.
