A MAN is fighting for his life after a crash late last night.
The casualty, who is 66 and lives in Sherborne, was driving a black Mini on the A352 Old Sherborne Road near Dorchester at 10.20pm when the collision happened. The Mini was the only vehicle involved.
The man is being treated at Southampton General Hospital. Police say his condition is critical. Officers closed the road until 3am to investigate the crash.
Inspector Joe Pardey, of the traffic unit, called for anyone who was travelling along the A352 at the relevant time and either witnessed the collision or saw the Mini being driven immediately before the crash to get in touch.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam," Insp Pardey said.
Anyone with information should contact Dorset Police via dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 20:501.
