FIVE men broke into a supermarket in Poole and stole a large number of cigarettes. At around quarter past midnight on Friday, the group of men, whose faces were covered, were seen to break into Sainsbury's in Pitwines Close.

It is believed they may have fled the scene in a red van and a black saloon car. Detectives have issued an appeal for witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Adam Gill, of Dorset Police’s priority crime team, said: “Enquiries are under way to establish who was responsible for this offence, including house-to-house and CCTV searches. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and either saw or heard something or saw the cars mentioned.”
