Dorset Police's dedicated no excuse road safety team has released figures detailing what they got up to last month.
The No Excuse team tackles the 'fatal five', the five most risky behaviours drivers exhibit on the roads. These are: Excessive or inappropriate speed, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and careless or inconsiderate driving.
Here are the results of the team's work in February 2019:
- 29 arrests were made. Four from positive breath tests, 14 from positive drug wipes and 11 because of other offences.
- 32 drug wipe procedures were conducted
- 14 vehicles were seized
- 105 tickets were issued
