PLANS to demolish a harbour-front home in Lilliput and replace it with a block of nine flats are set to be approved.

Members of Poole council’s planning committee will consider Fall Over Ltd’s application to demolish the home in Dorset Lake Avenue on Thursday with a recommendation that they back the scheme.

The firm’s application seeks permission to build a replacement five-storey block of nine three-bedroom apartments.

A planning statement submitted alongside the application in December says the “contemporary approach” to the new block follows similar developments in the area.

The proposal will be considered by councillors on Thursday (March 21) with a recommendation that planning permission be granted.

A report by case officer James Gilfillan said the development would provide economic, environmental and social benefits.
