BOURNEMOUTH council has agreed to sell land in Paddington Grove to a developer.
The site, which has previously been used for garages, has been sold after it was deemed that it was no longer required by the authority.
The garages had already been demolished due to low demand for them and their poor condition.
The council was approached by a developer which it says has already secured agreements for surrounding houses to “piece together a larger development site”.
Cabinet member for housing, Cllr Bob Lawton, signed-off the deal last month with a report saying the site was no longer needed by the council.
“The site is not large enough to develop with affordable housing without acquiring neighbouring land,” it said.
Neither the amount of the deal nor to whom the land has been sold has been made public by the council.
