WOULD-BE burglars in a stolen Audi dumped the car after a crash in East Dorset on Tuesday.

The criminals had broken into an address in Cove Road, Bournemouth at around 3pm that day. Nothing was stolen.

Four men were seen leaving the property in an Audi A3. The car was stolen during a burglary at a Bristol home on Sunday, March 3.

The car was then involved in a crash ten minutes later in Ringwood Road near the Longham Reform Church. The vehicle was then abandoned in Ham Lane.

Some of the burglars were last seen running along Glissons Road.

One offender, who wore a red T-shirt, got into a taxi from Knoll Garden Centre to Poole train station before running off into Poole town centre.

During both incidents the Audi carried one of two false number plates – MA16 FFY and GX18FFY.

Police investigating the gang say the car came into Dorset via Ringwood at 1pm on Tuesday, March 5.

Detective Constable Christian Bryant, of Dorset Police’s priority crime team, called for anyone who saw the Audi, or anyone acting suspiciously at the relevant times and locations, to get in touch via dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55190033961.
