Name: Dave "Tugg" Wilson (Tugg - nickname from when I served in the Royal Navy)

Years behind the lens: About two-and-a-half years. After my Dad passed away from cancer, I took on his camera collection. I feel it keeps me connected to him, I now look at life through the same eyepiece my father did, so I like to think we’re sharing the love of photography, my images are a testament to his memory.

Current Camera: Nikon D3200.

Dream camera: Nikon D7500.

The piece of equipment you couldn’t be without: Other than a camera, I would say the Circular Polariser.

Favourite Dorset location: Anywhere along the Jurassic Coast.

Dream location: Oregan, USA There are hills, mountains, thick green lush woods/forests and beaches and giant rock formations. Sometimes he’ll particularly go to photograph on a windy day, when there is a large swell and capture the waves crashing against the rocks and driftwood. The sunrise and sunsets seem to constantly be beautiful, setting the sky on fire. I love that, I love the peace and the beauty.

Worst photographic mishap: none so far, touch wood, I’ve been pretty lucky.

Best photographic success: Winning a monthly Facebook photography group competition in the Club of Black and White Photography which has over 47 thousand members.

Top tip: YouTube, YouTube, YouTube. It’s the best way to learn, as well as trial and error. Don't be afraid of making mistakes.

What you’ve gained/learnt from or liked about Echo Camera Club Dorset: I would say I've gained the motivation to try harder to find that one elusive shot, it's good to have something to aim for.
