A JCB mini digger worth £5,800 has been stolen in Wimborne.
The theft happened at a works yard in Petersham Lane.
It is believed to have occurred between 1am on Saturday, March 2 and 2pm on Monday, March 4.
A second mini digger was also taken from the site but was found in a field nearby.
Police Community Support Investigator Kate Hann, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Petersham Lane on the night of Saturday 2 March or Sunday 3 March 2019 to contact us.”
She urged anyone who comes across a similar digger in suspicious circumstances or being offered for sale to make contact.
