DORSET Police is asking residents to be on the lookout for two 'suspicious' vehicles.

On February 27, a man knocked on a resident’s door in Bishop's Caundle.

When the resident asked what the man wanted, he replied that he had a delivery.

The resident then followed the man to his van, before he got into his vehicle and sped off.

Police said the vehicle was a silver Ford Transit van with the first part of the registration given as SM18.

The man is described as being over 6ft in height, of stocky build with short brown hair.

The same van and man have also been seen in Sturminster Newton, Broadmayne and Leigh with reports that the man has been trying to sell power tools and electric generators.

A second suspicious vehicle, a grey 56 registered Volkswagen Polo, was also seen near a horse yard in North Dorset..

"Unfortunately we don't have the full registration", police said.

"This vehicle has been seen in suspicious circumstances around a horse yard near Blandford.

"If this vehicle or other vehicles are seen acting suspiciously, please gather as much information as possible such as the registration number and descriptions of the driver and any passengers and please contact Dorset Police immediately by calling 999 if the vehicle or occupants are seen committing crime."
