A MAN with a suspected broken leg was airlifted to hospital from a popular Dorset walking spot.
Officers from Lulworth coastguard rescue team joined colleagues from the South Western ambulance service to give first aid to the man, who was injured at Bindon Hill, West Lulworth on Saturday.
He was later airlifted to Dorset County Hospital due to ‘very difficult terrain’ hampering the rescue.
A coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-Solent winched him aboard and flew to DCH, where colleagues from Wyke Regis coastguard helped with transfers into the hospital.
A spokesman from Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team said that it was difficult rescue due to the location where the man injured himself. He added: “We wish the gentleman a speedy recovery.”
