AN inquest has been opened and adjourned after a 29-year-old man was found dead in woodland near Verwood.

William David Sullivan, of no fixed abode, was discovered in a wooded area at Potterne Park last Tuesday.

At yesterday’s Dorset Coroner’s Court hearing, presided over by Assistant Dorset Coroner Richard Middleton, evidence was heard how a member of the public discovered Mr Sullivan.

Mr Sullivan, a married shopworker, was born in Bournemouth.

This week's inquest hearing was told that a post mortem examination confirmed cause of death as hanging.

Assistant Dorset Coroner Richard Middleton adjourned the inquest until October this year.
