A ROAD in Christchurch is set to be subject to daytime closures for seven week days from Thursday.

Dorset County Council highways engineers are due to close off the entire stretch of Sandown Road and along Mudeford Lane to the junction with De Havilland Way between 8am and 4pm until Friday, March 8.

The road will be open outside of these times and over the whole weekend.

The closure, which extends for around 950m, is required to allow road maintenance and resurfacing work to be carried out in the area.

Traffic will be diverted along Somerford Road, Stanpit and Mudeford during the closure.
