POLICE arrested a suspect after a chase at a Bournemouth beauty spot last Wednesday.
Officers on patrol near the cliff top spotted "known drug users" gathering at West Cliff Green by the Marriott hotel.
The meeting happened in broad daylight at around 11.30am.
When the officers were spotted, the group broke up. Police focused on one member of the group and asked him to stop.
However, it is alleged the man then began running away.
The PCs gave chase, quickly gaining on the man and arresting him on suspicion of drugs offences.
It is alleged that a wrap of a substance was found in his pocket during an initial search. However, detectives claim that during a strip search at a police station, a further 12 wraps of crack cocaine and 32 of heroin were found.
Residents have previously reported problems with drug addicts gathering at West Cliff Green.
- A Boscombe man has been charged with two counts of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply it in connection with last week's incident.
