A CYCLIST was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a fire engine on Saturday afternoon.
The 49-year-old Bournemouth man was involved in a collision with a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue vehicle at 12.15pm in Wallisdown Road at the junction with Sunnymoor Road.
The cyclist suffered serious injuries that are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.
The fire engine had been returning to the station following a call out at the time and was not on blue lights.
Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after the collision.
Sergeant Phil Lee, of Dorset Police's traffic unit, said: "I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened or may have relevant dashcam footage to please contact me."
