THIS bright yellow Smart car has been donated to a Poole charity for a month, to help promote its Go Yellow Fundraiser.

Lewis-Manning Hospice, which supports patients and families in Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding areas who are facing a life-limiting illness, has been loaned the "fortwo" Prime Cabriolet by Mercedes-Benz of Poole.

Until the end of March, a touch of yellow fever is coming to the region as individuals, schools, organisations and businesses support the Go Yellow campaign.

Martin White, dealer principal of Mercedes-Benz of Poole, said: “Lewis-Manning is thoroughly deserving of local business partnerships and support so we want to help them spread the word and it is our hope we can help them spread the message more speedily and effectively with the help of our smart car.”

Harry Redknapp, recently crowned ‘King of the Jungle’ has also joined forces with the Hospice to spearhead the Go Yellow appeal throughout Dorset.

Vanessa Howden-Smith, fundraising at Lewis-Manning Hospice, said: “We are on a mission to get as many businesses and personal supporters to help us. We have lots of ideas and you can get involved by selling our yellow ribbon pin badges or by purchasing them from the Lewis-Manning shops at Westbourne – most recently opened by Harry – Blandford, Ashley Cross and Wimborne, in exchange for a suggested £2 donation, or creating fundraising events to support the hospice.”

“The support from Mercedes-Benz of Poole with their smart car is greatly appreciated as it’s eye-catching, useful and highlights our campaign. We want to encourage everyone to be creative and think yellow, keep it yellow and Go Yellow!”
