LLANDUDNO’s all weather lifeboat, William F Yates, was called out to rescue a stricken yacht off Pemaenbach Headland.

The lifeboat was launched early afternoon on Thursday February 21 to the20 feet long yacht which had suffered engine failure and was drifting.

An RNLI spokesman said: “The William F Yates with her volunteer crew soon reached the stricken craft, and after securing a line towed the yacht up channel into the River Conwy to place the boat on a safe mooring. Its occupants were unharmed.”
