A SHOP specialising in Apple devices has closed unexpectedly, with redundant staff warned not to try and get back into the shop.

Solutions Inc – an authorised premium Apple reseller in Bournemouth’s Old Christchurch Road – stopped trading suddenly along with its five sister stores after the business ran into cash flow problems.

A sign on the window said: “We’re sorry to announce that Solutions Inc has permanently closed unexpectedly. Staff were informed Monday evening that they no longer have jobs.”

Staff were told that police would be called if they attempted to enter the building, despite some having belongings there.

They say the company also has possession of thousands of pounds’ worth of phones and computers that have been left for repair.

An email, sent to staff at 7pm on Monday, said “Dear Solutions Inc Ltd staff member. Regrettably Solutions Inc Ltd ceased to trade as of today 7pm.”

It added: “Do not come to work tomorrow. Do not attempt to re-enter the store for any reason. Any attempt to access the store will result in the police being called and a delay in proceedings.”

One member of staff said: “There are 10 staff at the Bournemouth store. It is bad for us but we are also worried about the customers.

“Many of them are elderly and come in to the store for our help. If they want repairs now they will have to go all the way to West Quay in Southampton.

“We received a very aggressive email threatening that they would call the police if we attempted to get in to the store and we have no idea when or if we will be paid.”

Staff members have told the Daily Echo that many customers have paid for orders.

The closure is the latest in a series which have left rows of shops in Old Christchurch Road unoccupied.

A statement for FRP Advisory LLP said its partners, Ian Vickers and Chris Stevens, were advising the directors of Solutions Inc, which repairs Apple products and sells a range of tech goods from brands including Apple, Sonos, Beats, Bose and Sphero.

It said: “As a result of cashflow difficulties, the business was forced to close all six of its stores with immediate effect on February 18, with all 53 members of staff being made redundant.”

Ian Vickers said: “Solutions Inc. is an experienced provider of technology products, and provides a reliable repair service for its customers. Unfortunately, the business has run into cashflow difficulties, and has had to cease trading as a result.

“Our priority is to provide support to employees and stakeholders impacted by the closures, as we look maximise returns to creditors.”

A sign left by staff tells customers to contact the head office in Hove, but the number no longer works. Creditors have been urged to contact cp.brighton@frpadvisory.com

Asked about customers who had paid for goods or left their devices for repair, a spokesperson said: “Customers with outstanding orders and staff should contact FRP Advisory who will be able to assist with any concerns.”
