YOUNG pupils from Bournemouth's Elm Academy put on a stunning performance to win their Rock Challenge heat in Portsmouth.
The team saw off tough competition from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and were awarded first place after their performance at Portsmouth Guildhall.
They performed a magical tale based on the Wizard of Oz and captured the imagination of the judges.
Pupils also received additional awards including Excellence for Choreography, Performance Skill, Stage Use, Drama, Soundtrack, Visual Enhancement, Entertainment, Stage Crew, Video Performance and Positive Inclusion.
After the show, judge Jonathan Wood said: "You could clearly see the hard work that had gone into these performances, they were brilliant."
