EFFORTS to remove a truck and a digger that became stuck in mud at Poole Park last week have finally been successful.
Part of the road through the park was closed on Saturday while a recovery operation took place, however the vehicles remained stuck. Recovery work resumed yesterday and saw the vehicles finally pulled free from the mud.
On Thursday, a truck sunk into the surface of the lagoon and, in an attempt to pull it out, a yellow digger also became trapped.
A second digger attempted to address the situation but failed.
Poole council’s head of environmental services, Ian Poultney, said the following day: “These events are unfortunate but are part of operational occurrences when dealing with conditions in this type of environment.”
People gathered to watch as the vehicles were freed.
