A RARE oven has been stolen from a caravan near Shaftesbury.

The theft happened sometime between Friday and Saturday from a caravan in Compton Abbas.

It is described as a rare Caledonian nipper stove with a value of around £2,000.

Police Constable Alistair James, of Shaftesbury police, said: "The caravan is used as a holiday let and was still present after the last guests left on Friday.

"The caravan was broken into overnight and nothing else except the stove was stolen.

"I am releasing images of the stove and would ask anyone with information about it or who has seen it for sale somewhere to please contact Dorset Police."
