A CLIMBER was winched to safety this afternoon after falling on to a ledge near Anvil Point.
The Swanage D Class inshore lifeboat, coastguard helicopter and coastguard volunteers from Swanage and St Albans Head all went to the aid of the casualty.
The climber was found around 400m west of Anvil Point and a lifeboat crew member was put ashore to make contact with the casualty.
The casualty was then assessed by the helicopter's paramedic before being loaded in to the helicopter's stretcher, winched up and flown to hospital. The condition of the patient is not known.
