Coastguards rescued a dog which fell into a crack in a Portland cliff.
Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue team was called just before 4pm yesterday to West Cliff, north of Blacknor Fort, following reports that a dog had fallen into a fissure.
The team used a rope to secure the dog and it was quickly led to a safe position and reunited with its owner.
A spokesman for Portland Bill Coastguard said: "The dog had a few scratches but seemed otherwise unharmed.
"The team made sure the dog and owner were OK before they returned home and the team returned to station."
Wyke Regis Coastguard Rescue was also called for backup, but the dog had been recovered on their arrival.
