A DORSET-based animal-rescue centre will open its fourth charity shop later this week.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue is opening the new shop at 1551 Wimborne Road, Kinson, on Friday at 10am.

Shoppers will be able to find an array of bargains including household items, clothing, books, CDs, DVDs and bric-a-brac.

All the money raised from sales will go towards helping around 1,200 rescue animals a year at Margaret Green Animal Rescue’s two centres at Church Knowle and Winterborne Kingston.

The Kinson store will be the largest charity shop in the charity’s portfolio and will be open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday.

Margaret Green already has shops in Wimborne, Winton and Weymouth.

Donations for the shop are welcomed and can be dropped off during opening hours.

Karen Pothecary, Margaret Green’s retail manager, said: “Our aim for the shop is to welcome the local community into our fold and inform them of all the great work we do as a charity and raise as much money as we can to help rescue, care, rehome and support around 1,200 animals a year. Please come in and see us soon”.

Everyone is welcome to attend the opening day and there will be the chance to find out more about volunteering opportunities in the shop.
