MORE than 1,600 properties in Bournemouth were left without power this morning.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks was made aware of a fault affecting properties in the BH1 area at 9.19am.

Hotels in the East Cliff area were among those affected including the Hotel Miramar in East Overcliff Drive.

A total of 1,610 customers were affected and all properties were reconnected as of 10.14am.

Customers were restored in stages by “networking switching”.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks said: “We’d like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused by today’s fault and thank them for their patience as our engineers worked to safely restore power as quickly as possible.”
