CIVIC leaders have approved the allocation of an additional taking the overall budget to more than £200,000 to relocate the CCTV control room in their office building.
Members of New Forest District Council's cabinet granted the further £90,000 spend on top of the existing £121,000 secured for the project.
The relocation involves moving the facilities to another part of local authority's base at Appletree Court in Lyndhurst.
A report to Wednesday's cabinet meeting said extra finance was needed due to the expanded use of the identified new self-contained space for the CCTV room.
This includes accommodating the customer services centre and a flexible space that can be used as an incident management room.
The additional £90,000 will be incurred in 2018-19 but according to the report this will be met through the opportunities the relocation presents with more efficient ways of working.
These opportunities are estimated to equate to £45,000 per annum from 2019-20.
